Professor Fischer is currently the Director of the Catalysis Institute at the University of Cape Town and holds the DSI/NRF SARChI Chair in Sustainable Catalysis. The focus of his research is on the development of novel catalytic materials for the activation of CO2 with green H2 or alternative molecules.
Professor Fischer’s expertise in GreenQUEST? Within GreenQUEST Professor Fischer leads the efforts to develop catalyst formulations which are not dependent on platinum group metals. Such new materials hold the promise of being more sustainable and cost effective.
